How about we actually give middle school kids math assignments they have to complete on paper? And then actually grade those assignments on paper too? You can’t have them do everything on Delta Math and then be surprised when they don’t know how to show their work without a calculator.

My favorite thing in my job is the paper edit of a brief. When you've got the structure and basic arguments down and can print it out, take a pen, and spot the multitude of little things that collectively take a brief from "good" to "singing."
