Women’s Manuscript History Project I love books and capers in equal measure.

perhaps if Marcus Aurelius had showed some emotion around his kids instead of all that stoicism stuff, his son might not have turned into an insecure despot with daddy issues

Here a compilation of stupid things library consultants have said to me in solidarity with library pals at Lambeth Libraries where genius consultants has decided that a qualified head of library service post isn't really essential.

📚"Covers designed by folk who didn't bother to read the book" Episode 4: The Great Gatsby. “They say he killed a man, and bought that big-ass palace with the money he made from his Magic Mike themed speakeasy”

The President’s job is to help Americans in need, not punish them for voting against him.  Trump has approved nearly 90% of disaster-aid requests from Republican-led states. But not one, not two, not three—FOUR Democratic-led states were denied assistance they needed and qualified for.

Trump overrode his own agencies to deny 4 Democratic disaster requests

i got mugged at shotgun point. the cops arrested the wrong guy, hustled me out of court at the hearing when i said ”that’s not the guy,” told me “you didn’t see him,” made me do a lineup at the prison and when i said “that’s the guy i saw in court, still not him” told me “it’s OK, he’s a bad person”

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

I've never understood the concept of a charity event/gala. A friend posted about "Pilates for a Purpose" today. Why do you need to do pilates for the purpose of donating to St. Jude? Why can't you just donate to St. Jude? Why does a yoga studio have to be the middleman?
