going TERF is like the fentanyl of prejudices. you can’t just dabble in it and return to normal life, you gotta double, triple, quadruple down until you’re trying to get a hit on a podcast with isabel brown
Sophie Cunningham is getting booed every time she touches the ball here in Minneapolis
HAPPIEST FOOT FETISHIST ON PLANET EARTH: Please meet my wife, a centipede

I'm reading @colsonwhitehead.com's "Harlem Shuffle" and it's having the same effect on me that all his novels seem to: He writes lightly and yet I feel a low-level dread that usually signals to me I'll be experiencing a panic attack somewhere in the near future. I'm not sure what to make of it.
so much centrist discourse is centrists looking at policy arguments they WON (usually to disastrous effect) and pretending actually they lost and got put in gulags over it
why do so many of you follow this person
My friend Smash is an incredibly talented & skilled artist, and like many people in game dev, is out of work. If you’ve got an RPG character that you need art of, you need game assets, need a sick comic cover, they can do it all!
COMMISSIONS! Half body character commissions available. Happy to take on OCs, fanart, anything DnD, furries, etc. Please send a DM if interested!
I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses
Using lists of three is not an "AI tell." It's a common trait in human writing because our brains biologically want to make sure there's always one thing to marry, one thing to fuck, and one thing to murder.
DO IT
If you're voting for the Hugos this weekend, please consider A GIRL AND HER FED for "Best Graphic Story or Comic." We're eligible as we wrapped the most recent act in 2025, a 20-year project about the illusions of freedom we somehow managed to land. #Hugos #WorldCon #GraphicArt #GraphicStory #Comic
Every single time I read a post or a thread about someone going “I finally decided to try AI and see what it does” it always ends up in “AI produces egregiously bad information 20% or more of the time and the things it can do competently could easily be done by a targeted, local tool.”
I have started running Claude alongside the book I am writing on ants, as well as just letting Google Gemini do its thing at the top when I do Google search. It is not doing any writing I am using, and I am always checking the results against primary sources.
i got mugged at shotgun point. the cops arrested the wrong guy, hustled me out of court at the hearing when i said ”that’s not the guy,” told me “you didn’t see him,” made me do a lineup at the prison and when i said “that’s the guy i saw in court, still not him” told me “it’s OK, he’s a bad person”
It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.
I wrote about how immigration arrests are at all-time highs, even as ICE is trying to assume a lower public profile. How are they doing this? Look to your local police.
ICE’s Secret Weapon Is in Your Community
While attempting to maintain a relatively lower profile, ICE is managing to arrest record numbers of people. Here’s how it’s doing that.

Masked ICE thug just casually shooting pepper spray at a few old ladies standing peacefully on the sidewalk filming them in uptown Manhattan today. Just because these monsters are quieter now doesn’t mean they’re not still out there violating people.

This is anecdotal but when I wrote a piece last week trashing the dodgers for going to the White House I didn’t get one single piece of hate mail. First time that’s ever happened. He’s truly never been less popular. Even those who still like him are p quiet right now!
CNN: "The president's overall approval rating now stands at just 34%. That matches his career low following the January 6 insurrection."
I am not an exhibitionist but I have to be honest the sheer novelty of an otherwise impossible location to fuck might call like a siren, I really wouldn't know until faced with the dilemma
The only taxidermied blue whale in the world, 1865 CE, now housed at the Natural History Museum in Sweden. The public was allowed to enter the whale up until a couple was found having sex inside it. Now the whale’s jaws are opened only for special occasions, such as Swedish election days.
In Italy police were patrolling in villages to ensure that people didn't even step out onto their balconies. In China people were nailed into their houses. You were never locked down. In the US incarcerated folks were locked down, denied sunlight and air while the virus tore through prisons. STFU.
It is legitimately impossible for me to take anyone seriously if they refer to anything happening in the United States in 2020-21 as a "lockdown." You weren't locked down, you were at Walmart. And Lowe's. And hiking in state parks and getting takeout on the way home while line cooks were dying.

It's my birthday, so please come read SIDEQUESTED, our weird comic about weird people with weird rules of magic. The main character is a very slightly intense librarian who fell in love with the princess she rescued from a tower. sidequested.com
If people yell at them, it feeds their humiliation kink that they rebrand as religious persecution and mine for content. Instead, start playing or singing happy copyrighted music. Disney, Taylor Swift… or Metallica. Metallica accidentally DMCA’ed Metallica once.
Evangelist Whitney Lynn says she preaches on planes because she loves “a captive audience.” She's not alone. It's becoming a trend. If spreading your message requires listeners who can't escape, maybe it's not as compelling as you think. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...
now i want to write a comic book about this guy
