So it looks like I will be able to ship a Duo optimized version of Bulletin for day 1 👍 If you are press / have review units and want to test a Duo optimized RSS reader, feel free to DM for a testflight #iPhoneDuo #apple

One thing I keep running into in this agentic engineering era: ideas I've had, or am working on, ship first from someone else. It's inevitable. As an indie, it can feel like permanent catch-up. But it's pushing me to focus and be more ambitious. How are other indies handling it? #indiedev #iOSDev

Bulletin is sponsoring today's Designed in California. If you're here from the show, hello! Bulletin is an RSS reader that helps you get through everything you follow. You choose every source, and Smart Summaries catch you up on an article or a whole category at a glance. On iPhone, iPad and Mac.

New episode of Designed in California Apple desperately needs a replacement for Mac OS, but negotiations with Jean-Louis Gassée's Be are at the breaking point. But does CEO Gil Amelio have any other options? relay.fm/designed/8

Indigo 1.3 is available now! We've got a bunch of great new features I'll get to in a sec, but first up is a new pricing option. Indigo was great value if you used both Bluesky and Mastodon, but a little pricy if you just used one. Now there's a $19.99 plan for single-network use 😀

I really like Claude Code's workflow feature. I've been using it as a final verification across all completed tasks for a release. (Bulletin 2.2 hopefully submitting to App Review today) 🤞 This is in addition to me doing human review, on device testing, iterating while in development, etc #iosdev

I’m less curious about how Jason Arday got his appointment at Cambridge than I am about how Noah Carl, who published in Nazi pseudoscience journal Mankind Quartetly, got his, and how Nate Cofnas, also fired for being a race science crank, got his.

It's been a heavy shaping/planning week this week, as I close out the last app releases before switching to the iOS27 launch releases. I'm going to try and post a bit more over this period. I also have a half finished app that I might try and ship with #ShipATon #IndieDev #iosdev

For the past week I've been rebuilding my coding agent harness: instructions, docs, skills and workflows. After 14 months of organic growth, it was hard to maintain, hungry for tokens and pushing agents toward over-engineered solutions. Typical tasks now use ~35% fewer tokens. 🧵

I had a super useful one on one appointment with App Store Editorial. It's my first ever one, so I was nervous (imposter syndrome!), but I 100% recommend other developers take these opportunities. Lots of useful tidbits for me to takeaway #WWDC26
