Neverminding the unfortunate casting choice, I want to look at this as part of a pattern/sequence of things rather than a singular egregious choice. There's a certain trail of "the Terrible People™ kinda have a point" as if writing an antihero... about people who are steaming piles of trash. /1

There is no gray area on Scrooge. He is the most explicitly caricatured figure in all of Dickens. A Sistine Chapel level finely filigreed precise depiction of every miserly trait boiled down to an aromatic reduction. A Platonic ideal of the form.

I've lowered my prices a fair bit due to the fact that everyone has less to go around... but this couldn't be more correct if it tried and once upon a time, when I raised my prices it weeded out so many of the worst people to work with.

Psychonauts 2 is on sale on Steam for $13 so buy that shit, buy it now. The money goes to Double Fine and not Xbox, so jump in. I plan on doing the same for South of Midnight and any other games from Devs that tore away from Microsoft, and I previously enjoyed through review code or Game Pass

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

In that NEW YORK TIMES interview with Dr. Dre where he admits to using AI to produce his music, he likens AI skeptics to people who were skeptical of drum machines and synthesizers. I, for one, am grateful for new examples of rhetorical fallacies--in this case false analogies.

Dr. Dre: I had a discussion with a few people a few days ago. They were against A.I. and I’m like, “OK, you sound like the person that would have been against the drum machine when it came out.” Or synthesizers, right? It’s a new tool for creativity. Some people are afraid of learning new things. I’m embracing it. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with this. So you’re using A.I. when you’re producing? Dr. Dre: Yes, I’m using it. Again, as a tool to see what it would do with what I just did.

Even when you've made a successful game, devs are constantly barraged by the same online people claiming they know how their game should be made. There absolutely is no winning when trying to appease backseat developers. The same devs can be laid off at a moment's notice too.
