He/They. Black af. Earl of shade. Shenanigans. Worldbuilder.

Neverminding the unfortunate casting choice, I want to look at this as part of a pattern/sequence of things rather than a singular egregious choice. There's a certain trail of "the Terrible People™ kinda have a point" as if writing an antihero... about people who are steaming piles of trash. /1

The film, which stars Johnny Depp, will try to find the "gray area" in A Christmas Carol. www.avclub.com/scrooge-gray...

There is no gray area on Scrooge. He is the most explicitly caricatured figure in all of Dickens. A Sistine Chapel level finely filigreed precise depiction of every miserly trait boiled down to an aromatic reduction. A Platonic ideal of the form.

Psychonauts 2 is on sale on Steam for $13 so buy that shit, buy it now. The money goes to Double Fine and not Xbox, so jump in. I plan on doing the same for South of Midnight and any other games from Devs that tore away from Microsoft, and I previously enjoyed through review code or Game Pass

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

(I included alt txt since the op didn't) So while @officialpax.bsky.social still keeps The #PAX Together Intersection pages up for both West and #Unplugged it is clear that the version of the Intersection that was centered on opportunities for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, & disabled folks is gone. 🧵 1/6

SfaC is honored to be stepping into a new role supporting The Intersection at PAX West 2026.

SFAC

We recognize the importance of The Intersection and the years of work that have gone into making it a meaningful space for Black, Brown, Queer, Disabled, and other historically marginalized and stigmatized members of the gaming community.

In May, We submitted a proposal to PAX to support the Intersection space, and we learned weeks ago that our proposal was accepted. We want to be transparent that The Intersection at PAX West 2026 will not be a continuation of the program exactly as it has existed in previous years. We do not currently have the capacity or resources to recreate its previous scope of programming and services, and we don't want to promise something we cannot responsibly deliver.

Instead, our goal is to carry forward the spirit of the space by creating a welcoming community room where people can gather, connect, create, and feel represented at PAX.

We have intentionally developed community programming and will share more details leading up to PAX!

We know this transition comes during a complicated moment, and we understand that people may have questions or concerns. We have tremendous respect for the people who built The Intersection and the community it has served. Our goal is not to replace that work, but to help ensure there is still a space at PAX where marginalized and stigmatized members of the gaming community can find connection and community.

This is a new chapter for the room, and we intend to approach it with care, honesty, and respect for the work that came before us!

In that NEW YORK TIMES interview with Dr. Dre where he admits to using AI to produce his music, he likens AI skeptics to people who were skeptical of drum machines and synthesizers. I, for one, am grateful for new examples of rhetorical fallacies--in this case false analogies.

Dr. Dre: I had a discussion with a few people a few days ago. They were against A.I. and I’m like, “OK, you sound like the person that would have been against the drum machine when it came out.” Or synthesizers, right? It’s a new tool for creativity. Some people are afraid of learning new things.

I’m embracing it. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with this.

So you’re using A.I. when you’re producing?

Dr. Dre: Yes, I’m using it. Again, as a tool to see what it would do with what I just did.

We're deep in our hiatus hibernation, but here are all the things that have been fully updated to catch up with the finale of Arc 4: - Youtube VODs (to watch!) - Podcast Releases (to listen!) - Recap Document (to read!) Full updates and patch notes are in our weekly announcement post on Discord! 🌸

Even when you've made a successful game, devs are constantly barraged by the same online people claiming they know how their game should be made. There absolutely is no winning when trying to appease backseat developers. The same devs can be laid off at a moment's notice too.

Pop psychology: Bipolar is mood swings. Actual psychology: Bipolar involves manic and depressive episodes that are intense and disruptive, sometimes requiring hospitalization, far beyond ordinary shifts in mood.

The image is a side-by-side comparison titled “pop psychology” versus “actual psychology.”

Left side (pop psychology):
	•	“Gaslighting is when someone lies to you or tries to convince you that you’re wrong.”
	•	“Being triggered means that something makes you uncomfortable or annoyed.”
	•	“People who are rude, mean, or self-centered are narcissists.”
	•	“Anything that hurts you is trauma.”

Right side (actual psychology):
	•	“Gaslighting is an elaborate strategy where you are manipulated to question your reality, memory, or sanity – not just a disagreement over what happened.”
	•	“A trigger is something that causes a sudden increase in symptoms – like flashbacks in PTSD or compulsions in OCD. A ‘trigger’ is not just a source of general discomfort.”
	•	“Everyone has some narcissistic traits, and many people are unpleasant or absive without being narcissists. Narcissistic personality disorder is a clinical diagnosis, and it doesn’t always lead to absive behavior.”
	•	“Anything that overwhelms your ability to cope can be traumatic. Trauma has long-lasting impacts and it goes beyond ordinary adversity. Something being hurtful isn’t automatically trauma.”
