The highlight of my travels this summer was going to Copenhagen: a 19th century theme park right in the main square, gorgeous canals, squatter artist communities on islands, stunning gardens and neighborhoods built out of shipping containers add up to the coolest city I’ve been to!

I’ve noticed that 2000s indie rock has become the soundtrack to non places: airport lounges, hotel lobbies, etc. Funny how sounds that felt so countercultural in our youth have filled the role of muzak/Kenny G in 2026.

So great to connect with other urban researchers from Latin America at the LACUA meeting at the @uaanews.bsky.social ICUA conference!

Also, the talk radio host is obviously jealous of Mayor Wilson being able to live close to work and not drive. I’ve long argued that part of the hatred towards biking, transit, and urbanism stems from suburban car commuters being jealous of the lifestyle we have because driving in traffic sucks

Now, imagine if a mayor or state legislator vowed to spend billions of taxpayer dollars on expanding a freeway they drive on daily. Would the media frame that as a scandal?

what this story demonstrates is that even someone "just" using LLMs like ChatGPT for writing/research etc is still vulnerable to being sucked into a whirlpool of dangerous lies and delusions. So, once again, WHY are schools and universities telling students, staff and faculty to use this?

It's telling that she was prompting chatGPT for her master's thesis research and it went right on ahead into creep mode; she did not set out looking for affirmatio and conspiracy theories.
