“I think what’s coming is a bottleneck that a lot of species won’t come through—but what will come through is still up to us. So humans will probably come through it…feral pigeons…red foxes…rats. But if you want swifts, even blackbirds…, then that’s the work we have to do now.”

The Faery Queen of Mounsey Castle, a powerful, if tiny, presence riding through the woods and underground worlds of Exmoor. She is scouring the land for her long gone kith and kin, to defend the realm of the plant, insect, bird and animal kingdom against humanity’s final onslaught of destruction.

Wild God. Painted, mouthblown stained glass. 2025. This panel was inspired by Exmoor, its deep, dark woods, the bolving of its stags, the call of its owls, the dank of its mossy banks and the thrilling fear of what lies just out of the corner of your eye in a landscape that breathes old magic.

Stained glass arch shaped panel depicting a stag’s antlered skull resting on a mossy bed. To the right an antlered man and swarm of bees are framed by trees, to the left a stag headed figure grows out of the woodland undergrowth holding a growing branch. The ground crawls with fungi, the sky is full of birds and a death’s head moth crowns the whole.
