I'm hoping coalition partners will get that over the line-unless the intent is return the "child" benefits to those adults financially supporting the 18/19 yr old adults. Be it working for families, or child support whichever applies. Still got the abnormality for students that aren't adults till 25

It should be very clear to all that there is no way in which we can "cut" our way to prosperity. And many things *require* investment and direction that only Government can deliver. No invisible market hands are coming to fix things.
Forcing kids to stay in school but refusing to provide them the support they need to thrive there doesn't help anyone. If Stanford was serious about supporting at-risk youth, this is the last thing she'd do.
Talked with Mum today. She lives in Florida and just got back after 10 weeks in our home state of Indiana. Had a great time visiting family and old friends. Because she was away, she had to do a reasonably big shop. She was shocked that mince was USD$10 per pound. That's about NZD $39 per kg. 🤯
I heard someone express the idea that there are 2 indigenous peoples in Aotearoa - Māori and Pākeha. This clearly surprised me. My guess is that there is a very settler colonial push to redefine 'indigenous' to include Pākeha and eliminate Māori right. Is this on anyone's radar here? #NZPOL 🇳🇿
