incidentally one feature I love about bluesky is the special magic notif button for accounts you follow so you can get directly notified in your mentions when they make a new post. I'm never missing my favorites. I creep on your art so hard. it's how I keep up with accounts while avoiding the TL!

People reposting this again, so I will too with an added note: there is only so much I can cram into 90 minutes, so I had to be limited in what I covered. I highly recommend HTML for People for a longer, more comprehensive resource to learn it from the ground up. Check it out! htmlforpeople.com

Webtoons has solidified itself in webcomics as the Place to start and stop with comics. They want you to use their app of course, but they've conditioned folks to think it's the only way to share your stuff. How do we break this? How do we get people to stop using it? We share resources 😎

So, we need to talk about webtoons(the company) has done to webcomics Over the past 7 or so years, we've seen this absolute shift in expectation, migration, and stagnation in the webcomics sphere which applies to style, sustainability, and the platforms grip on readers and creators

You know. I also want to remark: Most people turn off reposts because one/a handful of users dominate their feed making mass reposts Know what would fix this? A tumblr style queue I can only repost when I'm online, and I'm not online 24/7, so let me toss reposts into a queue that automatically...

if you are any kind of creative or artist or writer you *have* to understand sex workers and porn/erotica artists/authors as being members of the same class as us. to the extent society recognizes a difference between "legitimate" art and porn, it's only as a tenuous, convenient, temporary fiction.

35 years ago today, ‘Doug,’ ‘Rugrats’ and ‘The Ren & Stimpy Show’ premiered on Nickelodeon. The three series were the first Nicktoons, launching a new era of original animation for the network.

Yup. An often-overlooked element of "internships" that are really just entry-level positions is that, especially in expensive urban areas, a serious level of privilege is required to even consider working for free for a year. It restricts these positions to families of a certain class. Intentionally

don't forget entrenching existing networks and wealth, as you have to have -some- means of support to do this [Disclosure: Did an unpaid internship in college. That was also thirty years ago].

imho people are worrying too much about the update here that allows turning off reposts for individual accounts. If someone is annoyed by reposts they already stopped following you or muting your whole acct (or simply using “posts only” feed!). I don’t think it changes things much for most people.

LRT /omg please though… I actually really liked Artstation as a polished portfolio site, but archived my gallery when it became another cesspool for A/I slop Gonna wait to see if they're willing to take a stronger stance against it and any sort of training before I reconsider the platform, though

OH!? @maxxburman.bsky.social congrats!? If new ownership is willing to support the actual art community and moderate out AI influence and the cascade of slop, I'd be happy to welcome artstation back from "I Will Never Post Here Or Think About It Again" Hell magazine.artstation.com/2026/08/kitb...

v1.130 is live! Want to follow someone for their posts but not their reposts? Now you can — turn on "Hide reposts in feeds" for any account you follow.

A screenshot demonstrating how to hide reposts from an individual user: Go to their profile, tap the three-dot icon at top right, and select "Hide reposts in feeds" from the drop-down menu.
