One of my pet peeves is folks acting like the absence of proof is proof of absence. This is especially true of pre-Spanish Invasion Indigenous Mexican cultures like the Nahua peoples whom I study. A perfect example would be FRACTIONS. So many claim the "Aztecs" had no fractions. That's BS. 1/

This definitely forbidden gummy is in fact a moth larva of genus Olona (possibly Olona zolotuhini). It's *normal* to want to know what flavor it is, but the answer, unfortunately is "pain". Most species in this family are covered in tiny stinging spines connected to poison glands. (📷: Janice Ang)
