This is so exciting! The German National Library of Medicine @zbmed.bsky.social just had its first open meeting on the plan for an open & independent PubMed safety net. Here's my write-up @plos.org on the meeting & how institutions & others can help absolutelymaybe.plos.org/2025/05/14/g... #MedLibs

Powerful graphic. In a single day on April 25, a DOGE-fueled NSF canceled 340,226 future days of research. Or 932 years. [And that’s just one of three rounds of terminations so far.]

For #TidyTuesday this week, we're looking at data on terminations of NSF grants 📊 🎨 Using colour to highlight one category 📈 Transparency to highlight the important data ✍️ Annotations instead of a legend for transparency #RStats #ggplot2 #DataViz

We just published a paper on the performance of various tests and confidence intervals for the scale coefficients in location-scale models in meta-analysis: doi.org/10.3758/s134... Overall, REML-based LRTs and profile-likelihood CIs performed best, but the number of studies typically must be large.

Performance of location-scale models in meta-analysis: A simulation study - Behavior Research Methods

Location-scale models in the field of meta-analysis allow researchers to simultaneously study the influence of moderator variables on the mean (location) and variance (scale) of the distribution of tr...
