Police in Bloomington, MN just announced that one of the guys they arrested in an underage sex trafficking sting was a **background checker for ICE agents.** He had a high security clearance in the Trump administration... and he was caught trying to abuse children. Sickening.

TRIGGER WARNING, because here is a US Marshal from Trump‘s Gestapo Force in Memphis kicking a puppy today in the Whitehaven neighborhood and breaking its rib. They were serving a warrant and I guess BIG MAN got scared of the schnauzer. (I didn’t take the video, the dog’s person did)

There's quite a lot going on, so it feels weird to be like HEY HEY LOOK AT ME, but maybe you like books, and like books by me, and want to see the cover to my next one, coming in August:

Cover to THE CALAMITIES by Chuck Wendig (designed by The Boland Design Co).

Dark cover -- blacks, reds, golds.

A man in a fancy suit with a blurred red face sits on a leather couch, casually, legs crossed, arms spread in recline. Above him is a gold-framed painting of a man spread in hellish torment.

At the top, the text: NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author of THE BOOK OF ACCIDENTS

Previous US presidents lost public support overseas because of their military misadventures and diplomatic failures. Feels important to understand that it will be a period where people's views of domestic America become less favorable. And the overseas press will not feel need do both sides.

Italian journalists of RAI (the Italian major TV and public station) stopped and threatened by ICE. This should not be the narrative the US government wants to send abroad.

A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you." The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?" "Learned what?" she asks Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

I was watching Bladerunner today and noticed that they have flying cars, live on other planets and have killer androids but Decker is reading a newspaper at the start of the film! On actual PAPER! Amazing.
