Y'all don't need me to tell you this but @nicktimiraos.bsky.social is an excellent reporter and does excellent economic and monetary policy analysis *in addition to* his very good sourcing inside the Federal Reserve.
As evidence for Warsh’s rough start as Fed chair, the Treasury secretary is now going after reporters for their coverage of the central bank.
PQ is an Android enabler—and one that makes our existing users safer Thanks for your patience. Join the Android waitlist here: germnetwork.com/android-waitlist
We hear you and have been working hard to make that happen. I’ll be uncharacteristically candid about our long-term planning - our PQ rollout is also a quiet enabler for shipping our Android app.
Read (yes) the whole interview last night and fwiw thought Toni did a fantastic job explaining how a complex set of technologies can and is already making people’s lives better—across users, publishers, developers and more
Thanks. Yes, that's what I was trying to say, but took too long to get there. Our politics community is strong, and I'd love for us to expand into new communities. Science and sports have already taken off. Birding, gardening, K-pop, we're open to all (except nazis and jerks).
this seems good actually! more sports, more animals, more art, more books, more fashion, more movies, more poetry, more birds, more science, more museums, more obscure little hobbies. just because my job is politics doesn’t mean it’s the thing I want out of this kind of platform.
Good lord I wish some of you could read on this text based social media website.
when people are complaining about stupid things like edit buttons and capitalization, that means everything else went well !! hahaha
yeah we should just stick to messaging our friends on GermNetwork about it
Arguing about the capitalization instead of the actual interview.... Guys we're never beating the allegations
> Rudy deserves a lot of credit for taking those early risks when it was much harder to build and being the first to prove that it can be done, but it’s getting easier and easier. We are seeing more and more BlueSky and BlackSky-style networks pop up pretty often Shoutout the Original Risk Takers™️
CEO Toni Schneider on protocols, community, and control. www.theverge.com/podcast/9743...
Hypothesis: The title and intro copy of the article all say Bluesky. But the transcript says BlueSky. So their auto-transcriber chose BlueSky. I look forward to the correction. And of course, it's wonderful to see @toni.bsky.team spreading the good word on open social.
I have a question for @theverge.com copyediting team which is how on earth did they end up capitalizing it BlueSky?

So after permissioned data lands, the protocol team is going to work on the financial rails for atproto, right?
Any atproto devs planning to go to Mozilla Fest in Barcelona this fall? LMK
Great piece on what “co-” (copilot, co-author, etc) does for situating the relationship to LLMs. One thing to add: “co-“ allows just enough of the user to absorb accountability for what the model does wrong or badly, while asserting nonetheless that the model is just as capable as a person.
I wrote this before the current AI going rogue kerfuffle but it relates to it - deals with the seductive prefix co- in AI speak: theconversation.com/why-the-ai-i... #AI #AIMetaphorObservatory #metaphor
Incredible T&S case studies in here as specific cultural events precipitate waves of online discourse and abuse. Check out JD’s latest report
Hey everyone, new month, new reports. This is a reflection of both the user reported content and the content labeled by our Peer Moderators who labeled content for Blacksky-Only posts! Really excited to dive into some of the details and hope you subscribe for more T&S related content.
At Lollapalooza tonight, the Smashing Pumpkins brought out Olivia Rodrigo, Melissa Auf der Maur, and Yungblud. It was the band’s first time playing its Chicago hometown’s festival in 32 years.
Mine is that anyone who thinks there is any show better than Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour is, personally, a racist
Post your hottest music take. Mine is New Order is better than Joy Division.
Omg literallyyyyyy You think big tech is bad? Let’s get mad at big telco too A future without phone numbers is happening now
Happy Friday! I've been building towards an "Atmosphere OS", where my atproto account is the identity layer on a real phone. I wrote a little bit about it here:
