MPLS. Mental health.

Guess I’ll be part of the Kaohly Her whisper campaign but a St. Paul knower confides maybe the police aren’t making shit up, they’re just the only department with the political cover to go public. Ask your St. Paul government friends if Her’s treatment of colleagues and underlings goes beyond SPPD.

WIC is so convoluted. We should shift to just giving an extra $200-$300 instead. I barely bother to use it because it’s so annoying.

My MIL who “doesn’t do politics” but is deeply aware of recalls and product contamination is on the verge of radicalization because of cyclospora lol

I’m gonna lose it at the guy at my internship who keeps chiding me for looking at the DSM to diagnose instead of using Chat-GPT. “It’s so much easier”

You can and should point out that police killing people daily is the "norm" in America. But that doesn't mean you *accept* the normalization of this violence and the way some people rush to smugly point these things out contributes to collective fatigue. Your horror has been stolen from you.

To date, immigration officials have shot and killed 11 people, including two Minnesotans. Across the country, they operate with no respect for human life, the law, or consequences. There's no reforming this agency. Rip it apart.

(Not directed at David) The larger issue is that Frey refuses, point-blank, to listen to Harm Reduction and SUD experts on what WILL reduce “open air drug markets” and falls back on Republican policing strategy EVERY DAMN TIME. He’s a small man puffed up by hubris and repeatedly failing upward.

Got to tell the mayor that 2900 Block of Blaisdell Open-Air Drug Market was very much open this afternoon. (We were at a small event honoring a Minneapolis nonprofit my wife’s chaired, so I was civil and so was he. I don’t think we’ve talked since 2017.) 1/x

Rest in peace, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican resident murdered by ICE in Houston, Texas this morning. Unfortunately, the federal government is using the same talking points they used against Renee Good in this case. It’s disgusting. 1/ www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Man fatally shot by ICE officer during traffic stop in Houston

ICE officers were attempting to arrest Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who the Department of Homeland Security said is not authorized to be in the country.

Truly a beautiful variety of benches! Thank you so much to the dozen+ folks who came out to decorate a bench on this beautiful morning! Grateful that our neighbors will have more places to sit while waiting for the bus!

Fun reminder that Minnesota is bigger than over 50% of other COUNTRIES. I’m one of the 52%. I used to feel shame about it, but I don’t anymore. It’d be so expensive and inconvenient to move states away from my support systems, and sometimes MPLS and STP feel like lightyears apart. Travel suffices.

Well this kind of blows my mind. Almost half of Americans have never lived outside the state they were born in. yougov.com/en-us/daily-...

Damn you guys can be mean. Critique the piece all you want, but I’m feeling spooked by how many people got vitriolic and personal about my friend’s silly anti-pencil newsletter hot take. He’s one of the most genuine, kind, people I’ve ever met. Imma take a lil break from this site and touch grass.

"[Most stay-at-home moms aren't the tradwives of social media; they're] just exhausted, low-income moms who can’t afford child care. 'The real path to becoming a tradwife,” Jessica Calarco, a sociologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, told me, 'is typically through economic precarity.'"
