Also I just updated my OBS and WHYYY did they get rid of the ability to only monitor something with no output?!?! So useful for stream managers when tech stuff has to get adjusted on the fly and now I don't have that option. 😭

Just to be really, really clear here: a Jewish person is very much better informed about what is and isn’t antisemitism then a goy. And this is a shocking reply, frankly. Y’all deeply DEEPLY need to learn that you are not the experts on other culture’s experiences.
I’m reposting this interaction because it’s something *white people especially* need to work on. It’s SO COMMON when conversations about racism especially come up. Pointing out you’ve said something bigoted is not an insult. You’ve done harm!! You have to see it as opportunity to learn and grow.
This defensiveness is how you become an adversary rather then an ally. I actually would have been happy to have a conversation in this case and educate about the unconscious stereotypes and bigotries going on. But instead I’m positioned as the asshole for asking someone to do better.
If someone tells you that you’ve said something antisemitic your reply should be “oh my gosh I’m so sorry could you help me understand how so I don’t do it again?” Alas.
