This isn’t just about about “rich” hills residents. Many low income workers need to get to jobs here and struggle with transportation. We need holistic thinking and lots of public awareness, leading to hope and demand.

SAFE HOPKINS!!! This is huge. Thanks to Berkeley Mayor and Council for their visionary leadership and to  everyone who has worked so hard on this for so many years.

I haven’t been following local politics closely for tooooo long but this report is one of the wildest things I’ve seen. Truly cannot believe they put some of this in writing!

After years of contentious relations between board members, a consulting group recommended changes to the transit agency’s meetings. The response was overwhelmingly negative.

I think it’s hilarious, the discussion about adding a transit rider seat to the LA Metro board. All transit board members should use the systems they govern.

AC Transit is facing a projected 4-year, $200 million budget shortfall. If no new funding is secured, service reductions of up to 16% could begin in June 2027. SF Porchfest - they should’ve closed off the streets to cars! So many people cramming onto the sidewalks and spilling onto the streets, with empty metal boxes taking up space. So dumb.

Every metropolitan area in the US should be studying congestion pricing now to be ready to implement with a new administration. There is no other tool that so quickly and effectively decreases traffic, increase bus speeds, increases transit ridership, and reduces emissions.

- MTA bus speeds in & around the decongestion zone increased 2.3%, reversing years of decline & delivering more reliable trips. - Ridership grew on routes through the decongestion zone: subway trips +9%, local/select bus +8.4%, express bus +7.8%. - Greenhouse gas emissions in the zone fell ~6.1%

It’s budget season and AC Transit needs to demonstrate to the public that we are spending their money wisely. Unfortunately, the draft budget includes: - fare hike for riders - raises for executives - no hiring freeze - overtime costs of $28.1 million (up 5.8%) & sky high absenteeism
