When a menu has a neat little tween. Or a character has a funny little animation. Somebody out there spent days making that little detail perfect. And when you’re playing a game you’re blasted with like 50 of these little things per minute. Games are so rich with human life! It’s awesome!!!

tech ceos love to talk like it's impossible to know what the computer will do at any given time as if that's smart and powerful and amazing. the determinism was like, the best part of the computer though. removing the determinism is the opposite of smart. it's stupid

I'm really glad I've been preserving old family photos and videos on my NAS. One of my brothers is going through the files for the first time and has found a bunch of memories that we both had forgotten about, like the dirt stunt track we made for our tiny four-wheeler (photo of smol me mid-air)
it's crazy when you see a photo for the first time and recognize it's gonna be used as a shorthand for the era you're living in right now by historians in 100 years

What a rough start to today. Within a minute of getting out of bed, I stubbed my pinky toe *really* badly so I just immediately turned around and laid back down on my bed for a bit. Thankfully it is feeling much better now, but it's got a purple bruise where I hit it on the doorframe :/
