Glad to see some cooler weather at last, not that my minuscule heat-trap Victorian flat above a shop on a high street is actually aware of it, being five degrees hotter indoors than it is out. Damn, may have to actually venture into the world.
"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care
Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.
Everyone should have a hype man like this in their life 🙌🏼 Might change my name to Franklin and play this on loop 😂
From today, EU citizens have a legal right to know when they're talking to a bot or looking at a deepfake, backed by fines of up to €15m. Thanks to Brexit, we're missing out on this protection.

One of those weird paradox of choice things where I used to be fine seeing Frasier as a kid because I got some of the jokes and there was a dog and it was what was on versus now where no matter what I watch I know there’s something better I should be watching
Someone posted about Purley Way, a bit of south London I grew up near, and I remembered in my very distant youth I used to confuse it with the Pearly Gates which my gran was always going on about, and further with a Curly Wurly which was my mum’s favourite chocolate bar. None the wiser to this day.
Well they didn't learn much from that decolonial project they launched five years ago, did they?

*Government: we need a sense of place and stronger regional policy to bring us together! *Also government: it's okay to shut this local uni campus in an area of high deprivation! *Thick-as-mince country. No joined-up thinking anywhere. 🇬🇧 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Well this seems as close to straight-up racism (and classism) as makes no difference. I hope PCS drag them right over the coals and then some: www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...

Commodore 64 latest: managed to write Wordle in BASIC. My son (computer science student) mentioned he’d been set this task himself which got me thinking. 27 versions and 3 weeks of head-scratching later it’s finally working. There’s still a minor bug here tbf and more bits needed to optimise stuff.
Who is Lewis Goodall and did/does he have other opinions that are worthy of our time anyway
Must be killing Nigel Farage having to spend so much time in Clacton. Bet he hopes he wins just so he can go back to not having to set foot in the town again.

This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
sorry for going insane for a few years do you still wanna hang out
The world is run by the most depressing people who have ever lived.
Dear Sir, I wonder if any of your other readers have noticed the uncanny similarity between FIFA supremo Gianni Infantino and the vampire Nosferatu? Are they, by any chance, related? Yours etc.
Oh wow so now the heatwaves and wildfires have started to make an *economic* impact, these fuckers actually care about climate change. Good morning
Just a friendly reminder to surround yourself with the kind of people who support their local library, theatre, bakery, bookstore, and café.
Doing things is hard. Shoutout to anyone who does anything.
Sorry but are we meant to be watering our houseplants every day at this point or just once extra per week? Also are they ok to be in the direct sunlight eg a windowsill, I mean they must like the sun as they are plants after all
I always wondered what it would take for the Telegraph to decide there might be a downside to climate breakdown. Well, now we know. Even so, this article manages not to mention it.
