Humorous to me how, when a Dem candidate is a centrist, the narrative is about how leftists have to grow up and support them. When the candidate is a leftist, the question is whether they can rally adequate support. So some people are responsible for running a winning campaign, you say? Interesting.

Also, quick reminder for people whose lives have not been touched by abuse—PTSD and C-PTSD are very common among survivors, so do be mindful of what you post. It can stick with people far more painfully than you intended. Comments about the mom, for example, or who should have expected this.

If you have any history of abuse, do not watch the video of that representative being interviewed. I shouldn’t have and I am still amped up hours later. Those of you lucky enough not to speak abuser should, though. The guy is textbook.

Didn’t realize people still back up John/Hank green’s educational stuff (idk which is which honestly), esp when khan academy, Bozeman science, amoeba sisters, etc is right there… I’m a sci teacher/prof & rarely use his stuff bc he has done/said far too many problematic stuff for me to look past

“Even if you don’t agree with our specific solutions to problems, we will make sure government is responsive and accountable to you” could be a pretty seductive take for people who think that corruption is bad and voters should have more power

Fighting for and winning the right to free movement of all people is fundamental to any chance survival of our species and our world. Borders will increasingly mean extermination, genocide and treating people as expendable

“Here’s a radical thought: what if migration is only a problem to those who want it to be? What if we started seeing the mass movement of people less as an existential threat and more as a simple inevitability of human existence?”

Just read an article that started with the claim that "employment improves health, while unemployment harms health." Work conditions can also be insalubrious, & much harm arises from conditioning healthcare access on employment status, which is also conditional on health x disability status.

Anywho, I've yet to find a job that makes me healthier. It's more like "this job affords me access to health-enabling resources to offset the health-harming effects of the work I do." The nature of work under capitalism means that someone else always benefits from my work more than I do.
