I feel like that's the biggest issue in our industry and AI has just multiplied that tenfold. Software that improves people's lives is created with care. I feel like we're teaching a generation of developers that it's totally normal for stuff to be broken all the time. Not sure how to solve this.

Almost 20 days after launch, the new npmjs dark mode is still utterly broken. I celebrated when they released it. It's great to see npm working on new features. The web needs MS to invest in the registry. But this isn't the way. They should remove dark mode until they have the time to do it right.

We’re pretty close to having an initial Rust port of React Compiler. My approach was to iterate on the plan document (write it manually, have the agent expand, edit, repeat). Then try to run it, see what goes wrong, revert back to the plan, tweak the plan, repeat.

With all the excitement of (Same-Document) View Transitions (and more VT features) becoming Baseline Newly available (yay! 🎉), one might overlook the inclusion of the moveBefore() method. This method is a pretty big deal as it allows you to move elements around the DOM while preserving their state.

Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust. In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)
