Been playing Big Walk with @chrislivingston.bsky.social and @morganpark.bsky.social and it's a lot of fun. Can be harrowing, like when you go off on your own in the middle of the night, fall in a big hole, and have to scramble around in the dark looking for the walkie-talkie you dropped.
When I started receiving emails about "AI Appreciation Day" last year, I became curious about where these "days" even come from, expecting the trail to lead me to a marketing company. Instead, it led me to a guy camped on a beach outside of SpaceX for a year.

One thing AI doesn't really do from what I've seen is make typos, so if you ever see a typo or misspelling in my work, it's not a mistake, it's a watermark that lets you know I haven't been rpelaced by an LLM.

Glad to hear Obsidian is not on the chopping block. Wouldn't have expected it to be, but who knows these days? Studio leaders said last year that they want to stick around for 100 years by not chasing infinite growth and profit, but I wonder if Microsoft feels the same way.

Who hasn't faced that common problem where you see an unidentified ball
I originally understood "ofc" to mean "of fucking course" and thought people were being really rude to me until I realized they were just saying "of course." I worried it had just been me all this time, but via Urban Dictionary it turns out there's a whole fight about this. Vindicated!
i can really imagine coach mcgirk saying "It's a tool, Brendan." then having full blown ai psychosis later in the episode

Something that annoys me about 2020s internet/media speak is how everyone and everything is always "facing backlash." Usually the backlash is comments on the internet.

This is the part of our Subnautica 2 base where we do our deep thinking. Currently we are contemplating whether there are good ways to catch fish besides grabbing them with our bare hands. Not coming up with anything.
Being infected by an alien virus that solves our problems is all the rage these days, I've noticed.
In Subnautica 2, survival is a prison and humanity might be better off becoming something else

An album I've been fascinated with recently is Come On In: Hill country blues legend RL Burnside (1926-2005, grandfather of Cedric Burnside) mixed by Tom Rothrock in 1998, loop heavy 'blues fusion.' Best tracks imo are "Let My Baby Ride," "It's Bad You Know" (used in The Sopranos), and "Shuck Dub."

I agree with the general complaint here about the 'we've heard your feedback' era (I hate it when design changes are called 'fixes'), but I like the creative exercise of designing cities in Civ 6/7, and I don't really have the impression that Firaxis is a mere slave to feedback.
