This is the same as the argument I (and many others) make when people muse "Is [X politician] really racist, or is he just acting that way to appease his base?🤔" Who cares about the why, what matters is what people do. If it's harder now to be anti-LGBTQ, that works for me. Who cares about the why.

There’s massive amounts of red tape that are caused by immigration control and the hostile environment and its biggest advocates are the very politicians who complain about excessive regulation. Enormous costs for employers, landlords, universities.

Nu när regeringssonderingar pågår hade det ju varit önskvärt att hyresregleringen dök upp på bordet igen. Hyresreglering har aldrig fungerat och kommer inte att göra det heller (att befintliga innehavare av subventionerade bostäder får billig boendekostnad är *inte* en ”fungerande” policy).

I'm *so tired* of idealistic DemSocs going "join a union! It'll solve all your problems" when the majority of economic problems I have are that my friends can't break into high-paying work, a problem that higher white-collar unionization would only make worse
