Question for people who’ve had more direct experience with language model training than me/who’ve read about how the frontier labs do this: why do summarized reasoning traces prevent distillation, given that they tend to preserve most of the logic? Isn’t the logic the important part at scale?

Language barriers and national cultures are important, but they look tiny next to the deep cultural divide that separates LaTeX users from normal humans.
Luis Villa@lu.is · 45m agoIt is amazing that essentially 100% of the responses to this are lawyers saying “because renumbering is hard”. That is both true (Word sucks; human search and replace is very fallible) and an extremely, extremely solved problem here in the year 2026.
I think it's pretty awesome that I live a life in which "Sorry, I can't tonight, I have lightsaber class," can be a true statement.
