When I went to the lake this evening, I hoped I might spot another firefly. No luck, but it was a lovely view once again, though I paid for it in mosquito bites. The passing cars at the top of the hill bleed light across the trees, making it tricky to capture the stunning red of the rising moon.

A rising pink-red moon looks like an exclamation mark as it reflects a long line on the water of the lake beneath it. The night sky appears bright as ambient light shines on rocks and trees on shore. The sky is cloudy and the moon shines through a haze. Moments later, no car headlights on the trees, the red moon appears hot pink in the photo as does the reflection streaking towards me on shore.
