The real Avondale back in my day discourse predates me: The Stewart Rd location in NOTL used to be fully vertically integrated from cows to ice cream production and retail. There's still cows there but they're a separate business.

Typically when you do PBR it's a bit upscale of condos on layout and amenities to help justify the upcharge versus renting nearby condo units, and save on opex. The Westbank approach of selling the Brad Lamb finish at a rental premium is an interesting take....

It's everything that's terrible about condos that I wasn't expecting in a rental: tiny bar kitchens with no storage or prep space, interior bedrooms with glass doors, weird proportions to the living areas that make it impossible to lay out furniture or have anywhere to eat, weird columns, no storage

This is going to fall firmly in the category of things I'll be happily proven wrong about but I have suspicions this is only ever going to be constructed of renderite. At least as shown.

When you provide the infrastructure that gives people safe, efficient options outside of the car, people will use it.

Yes and the practical impact of what Bravo asked for is to change parking permit application from per household (i.e. per unit) to per property. It's an attempt at straight redistribution of parking spaces towards single family housing.

Street parking is under priced, therefore over used. If there is no onsite parking, the cost of an on street permit is $24.23 + HST. Even then, a permit with on site parking is only $97.97 + HST, way cheaper than a storage locker. Where else can your rent a 2x3m space for under a dollar a day?

Not to suggest that a single bus is the solution to this issue but the Dupont bus runs on a ~30 minute schedule... The area needs better options, not permit restrictions.

Rolling around Seaton Village last night I couldn't help but feel like the city has been using the province as a scapegoat all too much in deployment of bike lanes. There are SO MANY one-way roads that have space for contraflow bIke lanes without removing parking or traffic lanes.
