He/him. I review manga and light novels, and also reblog a lot of US and UK politics. I also like dogs, cats, and Higurashi.

Shutting down a memorial to an assassinated president because you can't slap your name on it ranks with the most empty, floppy dictator shit of all time. Ferdinand Marcos would tell you to get a grip.

So I just watched the bit of Kenny Everett's Christmas Carol with Spike, containing a pun so bad I thought "Maybe I don't need to watch more Kenny Everett." But then I remembered I love puns and it was OK again.

Happy new article day 🥰 We just went live a piece by Alex Henderson that explores "Train to the End of the World," and the way the series' use of absurdism and biting social commentary come together to create a once-in-a-generation coming-of-age story. It's a great read and we hope you enjoy it.

Train to the End of the World: Coming of Age in a Strange, Stupid Apocalypse

In being so surreal, this series touches on very real and relatable ideas, holding up a bendy carnival mirror to the audience’s own world.

Looking at the first episode of Not the Nine O'Clock News, seeing Kenny Everett, and wondering if this was Kenny parodrying them, but no, it's them parodying Kenny, with the real Kenny. Confused already. I should watch some Kenny Everett.

To Daryl's larger point, CR wants to appeal a certain type of person. I wouldn't say those people are "casuals" or need to be gated out of fandom (as some have interpreted this post to be about) but I do think it is "people with large followings that we can get to associate with the anime brand."

Because I am so old and decayed, I often look at the decisions Crunchyroll makes with regards to the site layout, player, ad placement, store changes and wonder "who is this for?" But now I understand, for I have seen the target Crunchyroll demographic userbase. This is who the site is designed for.

Lacy reveals he tried watching Bleach as his first ever anime but got so bored he skipped to the end of the episode to watch the main fight 😭
