I opened my DMs for someone who was genuinely asking for more info and was then flooded with complete strangers telling me I was making shit up and demanding I explain myself and so on. I'm feeling very vindicated by the latest news i.e. Brand New Day & Doomsday

SPOILERS as vague as possible. Rewatch the latest Doctor Strange postcredit scene (with Charlize Theron) and Doomsday trailer. There's a reason that dot isn't where it should be and that reason could explain that character's attitude. Someone else told us NOTHING remained, body memory shouldn't work

And that's not even the most horrifying thing about this article! Dude starts by claiming “radiator fluid” yellow-green makes people want to drink a soda (are the Americans okay??) and that it's also the colour of his own urine. Mountain Dew comes out of him but he gives health advice 😭

Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.

To O’Mara, the diet is not just a temporary means of losing weight but a way to eat for good. He has been doing it for 10 years, and credits it with turning his life around. At one point in our conversation he pulled up the Bristol Stool Chart, which ranges from Type 1 (“separate, hard pellets”) to Type 7 (“watery, no solid pieces”). O’Mara is consistently delivering Type 4 (“smooth, soft, like a snake”), with pointed ends, indicative of healthy rectal function, he told me. “When you start eating healthy, you don’t need toilet paper,” he claimed. “Animals in the wild have no residual stool on their anus.” He described a proper bowel movement to me this way: odorless, wipe-free, over in three to seven seconds and “nearly orgasmic.”

“I could have a bowel movement behind a sheet at a dinner party in the corner of the room,” he said, “and nobody would know.”

Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

RIP- ELECTRONIC ARTS (1982-2026) Today EA is permanently delisting its stock from the market, following the sale of all its stock to the Triumvirate of Evil. From now on 100% of EA's profits will directly finance Saudi Arabia's regime and Jared Kushner's deals. Needless to say: not with my money.

LLMs are nuts. I can tell when someone has been interacting with one too much. Frictionlessness, endless scrolls, thoughtless subscription fulfillment, it was supposed to automate our drudgery, but it's muted our souls and turned us into smooth brained consumption automatons.

That's how building a stronger community works, yes. Those who can afford it pay a bit more so those who can't afford it have access to basic needs (food, healthcare, etc.). And ultimately, those who paid more? They benefit from it too because they get more cool stuff and a thriving community

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

They're trying to vote a similar law in France and I feel so naïve right now omg. I had not realized Steam would count as social media. They're making sure we can't escape this surveillance

This will be the US if the SCREEN Act passes. Call your Senators before August 5 and tell them that you oppose the SCREEN Act, KOSA, and the KIDS Act. Use the official lookup tool at www.senate.gov/senators/sen... to find yours by state.

Yeah, Kat Tenbarge was much nicer to Jack Osbourne than I would have been, I would have just told him to go fuck himself. Also, if you're going to accuse a writer or journalist of using "AI" on the basis of em dashes, absolutely positively go fuck yourself.

So I woke up this morning to find out that Ozzy Osbourne’s son made a video falsely accusing me of using AI to write a Rolling Stone article about the Tate brothers.

Marvel finally putting out an objectively good film* and cancelling one of its best creations** – one that had the same themes as BND, mind you! – in the same week is so very them smh. Every single time they're brave & creative, Feige puts his foot down 🫩 *Brand New Day **Wonder Man

Feeling like a kid again* *I know there's something wrong with my body but doctors refuse to listen so we're doing the “well, [symptom] shouldn't be possible... but it must be random and doesn't mean anything” routine again and again. Hopefully it doesn't take them a decade, this time round

i work at youtube, where you can watch anyone who has ever died on camera and get a half dozen neo nazi channels in response to searching “shrek cookie frosting recipe 2026.” please do not use women in our videos unless you’re complaining a brown one got a job somewhere

a bunch of popular ASMR artists lost their channels forever this week, after YouTube cited them for violating terms against "sexually gratifying" content: www.404media.co/youtube-asmr...

His reply to the backlash. Astonishing that someone who presents himself as a science guy is using the scrap-to-slop machine and still doesn't get why that's a problem. Publishing practices already exploits researchers and their work, why would you make it worse for them by feeding them to AI?!

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
