He lost the Black vote pretty big. So, something isn't playing well, and it's not just the AIPAC demonizing. He needs to get outside his bubble.

I never saw anyone tell anyone else to not vote in 2024. I mainly saw people defending their choice to not vote, or people telling those people they have to make a different choice.

El-Sayed won. I’m urging Black Detroiters to STAY HOME and be “uncommitted’ like El-Sayed was for Kamala Harris during the general election. Dearborn voted for TRUMP instead of the Black Lady. I’m encouraging Black Detroit to vote for Jill Stein or Trump , like the Arabs in Dearborn did in 24!

I believe that @kenjennings.bsky.social believes he is a trans ally. What he says reflects a good attitude towards Trans rights. The problem is with what he does. Ken needs to understand that his fame causes certain actions to have unintended consequences.

We all dropped everything so we could focus on beating Bush, and now we're here. Trump will be replaced instantly. Gaining ground on trans issues would actually help people.

This is so true. I wish I had the language to find communities where games weren't so risk-averse, but I fear I'll have to hint for those games one by one.

it's interesting to think about how noncommercial and small scale games do and don't actually achieve a punk ethos. punk music had forms to draw from which predated the commercial, and it reclaimed some things (eg electric guitars) which were v. much in the commercial mainstream.

The "bad take" was that refusing to disengage with the NYT signals a lack of commitment to the trans cause. Ken is trying to distance himself from people he brought into this conversation.

This attempt at quantifying guilt is why these institutions continue. The point is that they both contribute to the harm of trans people, and the business models you engage with make that possible. $15 or $1500 doesn't matter.

Those two examples are very different. I pay $15 a month for the NYT. How much am I contributing to the anti-trans cause, and how many amazing investigations am I supporting? Vs paying $300 for a Harry Potter The Musical ticket or $39 for a Dumbledore wand? These are not the same.

I think it’s a remarkably stupid thing for a political candidate to say. This is not the first time people have pointed out Vance’s hypocrisy on this issue, but to pull his children into it and say that you somehow know what’s in Vance’s mind about his own kids is over the line.

I used AI for all of 10 minutes in 2022. I installed Stable Diffusion on my browser, and prompted, like 10 images. Just long enough to dial in what image I wanted to see.

I'll agree, if we're talking about the "you've gotta be serious about changing" part of recovering as well. No pretending because you got caught.

You know the first thing they're gonna do if they merge is fire a huge chunk of their staff. Those jobs are safer with two companies.
