This. So much this! I read the Lord of the Rings when I was 11yrs old and mostly made up the pronunciations of names and places myself that felt right in my head and enjoyed the story. Nothing was lost. The films certainly helped correct that later. No shame in reading. No shaming of readers.

til that herb butter was named after its inventor, Sir Herbert Butter-Knife in 1851. That it coincidentally contains both herbs and butter is just one of those wonderful happy accidents.
