From a Left-Wing agitator with a book to flog
This edition is a bit meta. Consider it a sequel to yesterday's Rod Liddle obituary.

Never been so glad to report that it's absolutely pissing down with rain on the north Wales coast
Here a compilation of stupid things library consultants have said to me in solidarity with library pals at Lambeth Libraries where genius consultants has decided that a qualified head of library service post isn't really essential.
So Badenoch would recruit a neo-Nazi but *not* someone who didn’t want to leave the ECHR or someone who supported our NetZero commitments. Second chances for this guy but not Dominic Grieve. The Tory party is truly wretched. It’s screwed the country, betrayed its own and lost its tiny mind.
In 2027 we hit double figures and turn 10! We are planning some more community events to support comedy across the country. Watch this space…

I’m not normally one for documenting dreams but 1) charging Timothy West and Prunella Scales for an extra night after they come back to my B&B, drunk and go to sleep in the wrong room and 2) assisting a former colleague in his attempts at the world “horizontal high jump” record, deserve a mention.
Is it too early to know in any detail the deleterious effects of combining the BBC 'home' News Channel with the international service? From watching it (which I do, occasionally) it now feels much more like those vague international news channels you got on hotel TVs on holiday in the 90s/2000s.
I booked Rod Liddle as a guest on a show, many years ago, just after he left Today and had started as a columnist. He was a massive arsehole from the moment he arrived till the moment he left. A character trait he went on to demonstrate publicly, in print and on screen till, well, today.
Seeing both Jonathan Ross and Jeremy Clarkson, catastrophically irrelevant in 2026 and still trying to be 'edgy', and you want them to be fired out of cannons, really.
According to Luke Tryl on Radio 4 disillusioned Reform voters think Farage is “just the same as the rest” on the corruption front. But he isn’t is he? He’s exponentially worse. And his grifter tendency has been obvious for a very long time.
I don't think people are ready for this kind of joke yet.
I love the smell of righteous anger in the morning.
Simon Heffer has written his classical music article again.
Reform announced yesterday that this would be "Immigration Week". They will stage events, and the media will report them. #R4Today
Our Su Pollard’s comic timing has always been a joy to watch - but this ‘blink and you’ve missed it’ example is my favourite. It makes me laugh every time I see it. Fabulous!! 🤣
“We’re not losing you completely, then?” “No.” Oh balls. #TheArchers
We’ve all done it at least once.
'I vomited on a TV commissioner'
Prosecutors dropped charges against former Olympian David Hearn, accused of vandalising the Reflecting Pool, admitting the damage was "the result of flawed installation by the contractor" (Trump's pool guy). Good luck Jeanine Pirro, Trump will be big mad at the truth, he had said it was vandals.
Trump administration drops Reflecting Pool vandalism charge and admits 'botched' repairs
President Donald Trump had blamed "sick" vandals, and a former Olympian had been charged, but prosecutors now say contractors caused the damage.

I can't explain exactly why, but Phil's amuse bouche is doing 2,000 words worth of voter analysis that psephologists could only dream of
