“Fun” discoveries while suffering as a live chemistry experiment (since none of my allergens show up in tests): my MCAS is so bad that I’m actually allergic to the main medication used to treat MCAS. Not just all the fillers they use in most commercial meds, mind you, the actual med itself. Why.
Random disabled urbanist complaint: the NYC subway network is so bad at accessibility and elevators in particular that I’m now thinking I should drive down instead of taking the much more pleasant train to visit one of my favorite cities. So infuriating.
This is just outside the OTC in Chicago, where there was an endless parade of trains (including more out of sight below those bridges)
I really need old people to stop saying stuff like “when you’re my age your body will [x]” when they can still walk up stairs and I can’t without triggering a flare up of my illness. Old people constantly assume they’re more disabled than everyone else, and that’s often not true and I’m sick of it.
They suspended @cara.city for this!!! Dogshit website run by absolute babies. It is a Serious Violation to point out that the head of trust and safety’s pants fell down and everyone saw his little red ass and laughed
Another one of my favourite poster photos is this taken of a train shooting out of the tunnel towards a Hamilton theatre poster. It looks like the man is having a stand-off with the London Underground train at Oxford Circus Station.

Here’s an old transgender opinion I’ve held for a long time that feels obvious to me but apparently isn’t to too many other people: transitioning doesn’t inherently have to be hard or a big deal. It’s societal and medical system bullshit that makes it suck, but it doesn’t have to be that way.*
I really wish I’d known enough at the time to do some bandaid fixes to my Impreza wagon and kept her on the road for another year. I could have done a much smarter job searching for my new replacement Honda Fit, and I maybe could have done more affordable rust repairs to the Suby instead.
