Spending my evening watching the history of television news in Spain, because why not? Anyway, the logo for Telediario looks to have taken inspiration from another part of Spain.
"Much of the Midlands ... had to rely on the long wave for Light Programme reception." — that was the design. The Light on MW was intentionally mainly fill-in in areas where LW was poor. Especially an issue in Scotland, which at the start of R1 left R2 with just fading LW & VHF in limited areas.

@aswiseman.bsky.social sent me a scan of Alan Jeapes' Prospero typeface, so I've been playing about putting it into FontForge, via Inkscape. Still some work to do, but hope to be releasing this soon for anyone to play with. The typeface was used with 1985's COW BBC1 globe.

Studios of ITV print project backers! The first 39* packs have gone out. Look out for your Royal Mail tracking emails! ... *don't ask why it's such a weird figure as we'd have to tell you that we took one all the way to the Post Office without actually putting an address label on it.
Delighted to confirm that the new TV Live will launch on September 1st! Work has progressed at speed on getting the new site ready, and it's almost there!
The gasometer, somethings in the path... (daily ferry had something to say once....) Or using buildings to bounce a signal in a city only to realise TX and RX are not pointing at the same building.
