Feral Cat Lady

Childless cat lady. Will bite. It's all there in the name. Also a leftist but the biting thing seemed more important to emphasize.

It does not, in fact, require this. Boots theory is a metaphor. It is a useful shorthand for the very real observation that poverty comes with a cost out of proportion to income. The ability to plan out and afford major expenses ahead of time is a luxury of the financially stable. That’s all it is.

The problem with this idea is that it requires that quality/durability of a product grow exponentially with price. E.g.: if you pay $5 for a whatsit, it lasts a year. If you pay $10 for a whatsit, it lasts 3 years. This is an absolute mathematical requirement for the theory to make sense.

Waking up to Sharia Law in NYC is crazy. Knicks won, crime is down, 2,000 toddlers are going to school for free, parents got “date night” with nyc babysitters, they’re building housing on city land, small businesses are saving money and selling ice cream. Its sunny out i should go get one.

Brendan Gleeson is a delight generally but don’t sleep on him in Spider-Noir. He ought to be encouraged a) to only ever use his Irish accent in film and b) to play heavies. He has the grace and gravitas. He’s 15 years older than Nic Cage and still I believe he’d e the bigger physical threat.

The so-called SAVE America Act is a collection of Project 2025 priorities. Been trying to tell you folks that Project 2025 rigs future elections for Republicans. Even Trump has said, Republicans will win for the next 100 years if the SAVE Act is passed. Per usual, saying the quiet part out loud.

Running out of body bags, using forklifts to transfer corpses into makeshift morgues, a mortician conducting 200 funerals in a month when he usually does 30, crematories running at double capacity… And these senators just want to memory-hole it all www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/n...

The coronavirus crisis is overwhelming New York’s system for burying the dead.

The Fauci hearing perfectly illustrated how living through a once in a century pandemic somehow made Republicans far worse on public health. God forbid we face anything like covid again during Trump 2.0. There will be no Dr Fauci around to try to talk sense to Trump.

I mean, Ebola has taken out 1000 people or some such in 2 months. The last panic we had about Ebola didn’t see that many until more than half a year and people still wanted to quarantine Africa at that time. We could be looking at Captain Tripps level problems thanks to Trump 2.0 changes.

If this were a Greek myth or a bible story we would get a pandemic far worse than Covid this time around and be sinners in the hands of an angry God.

Musk pretends well that deepfakes of himself don’t bother him, so I am sure he will manage. The real question will come when, if this law passes, the challenge is taken to SCOTUS. If anyone has thinner skin than Musk, it is Samuel Alito. Imagine AI lawyers bring in deepfakes of him nude (gag)

Police murdered a Black man in the street in Madison WI today. Shot point blank in the head while on the ground, tased, and surrounded by four cops. It looks like an execution. Multiple videos circulating online. Things are about to get very bad here.
