I think we all understand that this is a silly-season strawman stunt, but I do hope there are followup questions in Salem next year. Like, what specific rights are we talking about here? The best case here is that it's empty electoral pandering. Worst case, an anti-regulatory environmental disaster.

The move comes after animal rights advocates failed to get enough signatures for an initiative banning such activities.

It’s advocacy for a negotiating posture that asks the public to be more flexible while placing little pressure on the private party receiving $1.1B in public support.
Another wildfire year where people don’t know where to find evacuation information because Oregon lacks a single cohesive place to find it. WatchDuty links to maps that crash. Local govts are relying on Facebook to share critical information.
Shifting winds are a major problem. Winds are now moving to the east. Previously they were moving basically north-northeast. Please heed all evacuations!

The way the Blazers can obviate any litigation threat over the bridge agreement is simply to reach a NEW agreement. If I'm understanding things, the only realistic way "first class" gets litigated is in the damages-to-the-city portion of the Portland vs Rip CIty lawsuit if they decide to leave.
A contract drafting pro-tip: If parties agree to a standard into a contract, the parties either need to know what it means very specifically, or the parties need to be prepared to litigate it and win. Vague standards are often not accidentally vague, but a truly negotiated term.

Having observed the robust signature review processes and procedures in Multnomah County Elections for *ballots,* I find it REALLY hard to believe there are "thousands of valid voter signatures being thrown out" in this ballot measure validation.

This final comment from Blazers PR about the current priority of Blazers PR is incredible. If it's a tactic to try to get city (and county) leaders to simply negotiate against themselves, it is backfiring badly.
