A reminder that 81% of residential land in Connecticut requires about 1 acre per home, and a staggering 49% requires about 2 acres per home. You’ll hear septic as a reason, but as Nolan points out, that’s a red herring. Exclusion is the goal!

We had a discussion at tonight’s Town Council meeting about e-bikes. It’s couched as a safety issue, but make no mistake: this is about people wanting to crack down. Meanwhile, the only recent deaths on our town’s streets were caused by cars, including one killing an ebike rider and an 81 year old.
We can't solve a housing crisis without building more housing. Today we broke ground on the Casanova Residence, which will soon be nearly 100 affordable and supportive homes with on-site services for New Yorkers. Every new home is a step toward a City that everyone can afford.
Current Trumbull political “issues” some voters are pushing for: ➡️ lower taxes ➡️ more school funding ➡️ a ban on a data center that’s existed since 1960 and is our second largest tax payer ➡️ ban e-bikes based on stories of people being annoyed by them The voters, man!
Right so this should be easy to establish: what % of cases were solved because of these cameras? The fact that their supporters can’t provide that data, relying on one-time anecdotes says that these should be gone. I’d be glad to vote to removes these from Trumbull.

I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻♂️

The Norwalk-Darien Community Bike Ride was a great way to enjoy the outdoors and come together as a community. Thanks to everyone who came out.

Every other day there is a post in our local town FB groups about the dangers of e-bikes. All of these are hypothetical—the only crash that did happen was a driver killing an ebike rider. Imagine if our population gave 1/100th the effort or concern about the actual dangers of car crashes!
