Apparently I need a fandom account for my own peace of mind? Current fannish love: 镇魂 | Guardian.

This is an excellent thread about Reacher in case you haven't watched the show & are wondering what the deal is. I thought the movies okay (albeit with mystifying casting), hadn't read the books, & wasn't sure I'd like the show . . . but I really like the show. (Haven't started the new season yet.)

now that we know how the new season of Reacher is (excellent), a thread about why you should watch What If A Man Was Large, The Show, in the form of a Q&A

I'm more than a little confused about the iQIYI Roku app labeling my account as set up to autorenew for a VIP-whatever account while simultaneously telling me I need to sign up for that so I can watch locked episodes. Something to dig further into when I'm at an actual computer.

I finished Ride or Die last night and just now thought, "Hmm, I could start a new drama", but even if I consider only recent ones there are four off the top of my head that I'd have to choose between. It feels like too much pressure. (Two are DMBJ. How are there THREE since the last one I watched?)

A man, invariably: This is a girly hobby, so I can probably dive in cold, learn everything, and be giving advice and info to everyone within 2-3 hours Same man, 3 hours later, bleeding from multiple wounds, holding 8 ice packs, limping, sobbing: MAN DOWN MAN DOWN WHY ARE THESE WOMEN SO MEAN

I wonder what it's like in the timeline where there was an amazing three-season adaptation of Newsflesh and there was a studio or high-quality live version of Vienna Teng's cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "America" and I knew how to vid. Pretty great, I bet.

Posted else-net: a media catch-up post with a handful of things notes and (very brief) actual comments on Heartstopper Forever being caught up on the Witch Hat Atelier anime. (I'm off from Dayjob today and hoping to do a few DW posts to clear out my mental backlog alongside some manga work.)

what's that, confirmation the jitd cast all read #默读 before they even saw the script? as we always knew that at least zhang xincheng had to have done? in order to bring every tiny fucking detail to the screen including fei du's peach-blossom-eyed smile? excuse me while i scream inside a photocopier

akaso eiji crashing out inside, in fact, a photocopier

Timeline cleanse: You're watching Mei & Kira, two sea otters (Enhydra lutris) at the Toba Aquarium in Japan, help clean the pool area after playtime. The reward is an ice treat. Enrichment activities like this promote mental wellness. Let's talk about the SUCCESS of sea otter conservation.

The Middleman was a delight (& I was so happy to champion it back in the day & it's fun when it comes up now & suddenly we have little Middleman lovefests). There's a fanvid I love with clips from many sources, including The Middleman, & some other shows with clips in it may be viewed as . . . 🧵

among the many failures in my career, there is the one show i created and shepherded through a great deal of travail into a twelve episode order, it's a show called "the middleman", it has a small but wonderful dedicated fan community...

This is part of a long and excellent thread about art and the making of it, but I'm pulling out this bit because, truly, The Middleman was a thing of joy and I'm so grateful it exists. (A bit further down is the link for how to watch it now. I cherish my DVD set.)

Posted else-net (locked): This summer I have instigated not only buying a car but signing up for a farmshare between now and October. This is all as weird to me as it is to anyone who knows how unlike me these things seem, but here we are.

I've posted about this else-net (only under lock), but barring some horrible discovery in the next week--that is, during the remaining window for returning it--we now have a car for the first time ever. (I can't drive and C is a dedicated cyclist, and the local carshare has been good to us overall.)
