In my game Rhythm Doggo, when a NPC dog should jump from a platform to another, it calculates exactly which jump strength it should have to land at the correct spot given the position, velocity and acceleration That code worked perfectly. Selecting which side of the platform to jump from did not

These are dead books, destroyed on an industrial scale. I grew up in Germany and there are few images of facism from the 3rd Reich that have endured like the book burnings did. Not sure who destroyed more art and knowledge. I'm not being cute here or using nazi comparisons as hyperbole. /1

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

Similar, using the additive colour table from /system/screensavers/dizzy.p64 (1400 polys) A target mask of 0x3f + fill patterns still gives 6 pixels / cycle, so not much of the cpu work actually happens in the scanline filling stage. #picotron

I was told you couldn't do 3D on the Playdate, so I did it. Then I was told there was no way I could create exterior levels like those in Mirror's Edge, so I proved them wrong again.

Okay here's a thing that's good to report: Denshattack is as rad as everyone is saying it is. It's a fascinating hodgepodge of skateboard game mechanics, endless runner mechanics, and some light burnout/rhythm-y stuff, but really it's the game's unrelenting energy that sells it.

A very small update to Magpie today, v0.2.1 adds a few new demos (for a How To zine I'll be releasing soon) and also fixes the way people tab between pages - you can now use CTRL+[,] or CTRL+<,> or click the little buttons in the top-right corner. Previously, I posted about how Yoshi's Island bosses are shaped dynamically from cones. It turns out there is a way to see this in-game. If the cartridge is pulled out during a boss battle (PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS), the boss will revert back into its true cone form.
