Tilda Swinton is writing a memoir. But get this: it’s a little different from the normal celeb tell-all. ‘Material Evidence’ will eschew linear narrative, instead examining Swinton’s life through a series of objects.

It's very difficult (and very thankless) to tell people not to panic when everything is in fact very awful, but panic is never a good organizing model, persuasion tactic, or personal outlook. It's good for content creation in an algorithmic feed but that's kind of it.

Like all of us who perform some version of womanhood, I had aspirational figures when I started figuring mine out. Elvira, Dolly, and my mom. Each of them, to their own degree, fictional. Now that only Elvira is left, I will need to call my psychiatrist if anything happens to her.
