I think this is the core of it: A "liberal" wants a kinder, fairer, better world. A "conservative" wants a crueler, less fair, worse world. And most "leftists" prioritize feeling morally "pure" in theory to working to achieve a better world in practice. Because the latter involves voting (D).

So no existing Democratic senator lost a primary this year. Their primary opponents barely even put up a fight. Wild, huh. So much for "primary them all" and "out with the establishment".

I spent 2024 saying people should vote for Harris because Trump was unacceptable. The main pushback I got was from every leftist in the world telling me Harris should lose to punish her for Gaza. So yes, if to you “bad faith” means “reacting to observable reality,” I’ll own that.

Let’s hear why leftists who spent four years screaming at Biden no matter how progressive his policies were, and then spent the election screaming that Harris was unacceptable, all while liberals insisted Trump was bad, aren’t the villains of this story.
