For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
She also really debunks the common justifications about religion, region, and age. Your grandparents and parents have shitty values because they have shitty values, not because of anything else. They could do better. Anyone can use their eyes to see the world and have the correct read.

#Discord itself isn't enough. The main driver of these decisions are #ageverification bills around the globe. You should pressure your politicians to stop pushing for this, or repeal pre-existing bills that require it. Chatcontrol 2.0 is coming up in the EU this month, now that we're on this topic.

Ive been nitro free since the first time they tried this, voice how you feel with your wallet people. Make them really feel that squeeze.
You can create high quality art and stories and still be a decent person, honest! Creativity doesn't require you to be a creeper, a degenerate, a bigot, or a maniac. Success is not a permission switch to unlock your ultimate shithead persona.

On a much unrelated note before I wander off in sick rest: as someone who's lived in its vicinity lifelong, it's still fucking Lake Ontario to me and will always be (and the local indigenous tribes were here well before the country was anyway!)

We've lost a lot of artists this month, a lot of folks who lived bold and lived kind. They may be gone, but we can fill in the gaps they've left. Artistry and kindness, they've already been in short supply and dwindling - this just means the torch has been passed onto us now.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.
When a good and decent person leaves this world, I think the best thing we can do to honor them is to try to put even more goodness and decency into the world. It's not that we can replace them or their contribution. It's just that we need it all the more now that they're gone.
I think that Dolly Parton was, for a lot of people, an ambassador of the "good" values people think of about the South: kindness, hospitality, can-do spirit, sharp and witty and down to earth. I think for a segment of people, too, she was theantithesis of a lot of noxious masculine country stuff.
