El-Sayed, Lawrence and McKinney all won progressive campaigns in Michigan last night by talking about climate and clean energy like it was a kitchen-table issue — because skyrocketing energy bills and endless wildfire smoke matter to people.

Ethan Corson had Kansas unions and the popular Democratic governor going hard for him and he got cooked by ten points by a populist who wants a moratorium on data centers
Cindy Holscher pulls away in the Kansas gubernatorial primary and will be Democrats' nominee in their toughest gubernatorial defensive race of the cycle
If money can’t buy power, the rich have nothing. This is the real revolution.
Unfathomable
@abdulelsayed.bsky.social triumphing over something like $60 million, $32-ish million of it AIPAC money, is not a "narrow" victory, it's a people's earthquake. This kind of spending is oligarchy in action, to smother democracy through its formal channels, and is getting normalized. Still he won.
Let's all sit with the fact that the president wants to jail some random person who is self-evidently innocent. It's not surprising, but it's amazing that much of the media is almost completely disinterested in this fact.
It's funny that Jeanine Pirro brought a box of evidence to WH to persuade Trump. He wants her to consciously *throw out* exculpatory facts and *knowingly* prosecute innocent people. So facts can't persuade him by definition. Me and @barbmcquade.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/2139...
I've lived in rural (and urban-ish) North Louisiana going on 15 years. Mostly deep red, pockets of light blue. I've not seen people organize around any issue like the data centers. They won't beat Amazon's and Meta's money in the short term, but they're ripe for mobilization.
I’ve been screening our documentary with organizing communities in the South. So far, the organizers mention data centers first at every single event. From racial justice orgs to old school activists who don’t usually think about tech policy. This has legs.
Note of gratitude to Gillian Brockell for staying on the beat and keeping visible systems behind heartwrenching videos. That purple line is a plane likely full of families being broken, people who'll be lost to others & themselves, even young ICE employees who'll bring their violence home to others.
Third long-range private jet ICE flight in one day. This one is headed for Africa, possible third-country nationals onboard.

New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.
Stop stop I already like him enough

Are these people's brains so rotted that they genuinely do not remember four years ago?
I have one answer.
Susan comes out against Todd Blanche now that he's got the votes. So tiresome. (We called it: tinyurl.com/3bepafkz) #MEpolitics
Yo you posted this on the wrong social media platform. All we do is talk about how we're broken as hell over here. You're thinking of LinkedIn
On social media, a broad consensus is that you can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential. How did it become mandatory to demonstrate perpetual growth and progress online?
Analysts estimate that 70%+ of Microsoft, Google and Amazon's present and future AI revenues are from Anthropic and OpenAI's compute spend and model sales. Outside of two unsustainable AI labs, demand barely exists, and they've massively overbuilt capacity. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-deman...

For millennia migration was just a standard thing for humans.
“Here’s a radical thought: what if migration is only a problem to those who want it to be? What if we started seeing the mass movement of people less as an existential threat and more as a simple inevitability of human existence?”

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
These women are being held in the Brasile South Louisiana I.C.E. Processing Facility.🚨 Some have been there for months, separated from their families. One woman was recently put in solitary confinement for releasing a prior video. Multiple reports of abuse from male #ICE agents. Spread the word.
I’m so old that I can remember when the standard for impeaching a president was briefly lowered to “lied about some blowjobs”
FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.
New Yorkers had to subsidize the $117 million that the NYPD paid out for misconduct lawsuits in 2025 alone, even though most of them were never personally abused by a cop. Where's your worried op-ed on that one?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Not once has any male White House correspondent defended a female colleague from this abuse.
Trump says Jeanine Pirro "choked" and then snaps at a reporter who asks if her job is safe: "Don't ever talk again"
