We need a serious reckoning about the British press. We've had too many tragedies. And this whole saga was nothing but appealing to the worst, most prejudiced instincts of their writers and readers. They turned this into a cruel, relentless spectacle until a terrible outcome.

A college buddy asked me about my transition from a racism-is-bad liberal in the 1990s to a much more left lefty today lol. Found myself talking about police violence, the horrific attacks on trans people, and the role of billionaires in making so many things worse. No one gets left behind.
Important to understand that the purpose of these laws is to convert unhoused people into slave labor for the prison system. That's not a side effect, or an unintended consequence. It's the main reason these laws exist.
