My hot take on the "charts" debate is that while I definitely agree on the empirical data they show, and it's very useful for policy, they don't account for *feelings* all that well which I think is the confounding variable of it all. And *messaging* is more reliant on managing feelings than data.

Welcome to day 1 of the bullies charter being given some legal clout. Remember the Code is not law, and apples to service providers, not service users. What this does is now make it a lottery every time a trans person wants to use a public loo or service, because it's now up to the manager.

He called those who did serve their country "suckers and losers." He skipped the centenary memorial for servicemen who died in WWI because it was drizzling. This is more than usually repellent.
An actually underrated potential positive for Dems in light of Abdul’s victory is that it gives traditionally centrist or otherwise poor Dems on Palestine on an easy out for polarizing against AIPAC and pro-Israel politics— they’re trying to cost Dems the Senate.
If you're trans and you have the means and opportunity to safely leave the US, you probably should. The best time to get out is likely yesterday.
