I think using the terminology of 'mandates' (both in David's original paper and his response article) has been a real obstacle in this broader convo about prereg. Particularly because such mandates largely don't exist, and field-wide use of prereg is actually quite low (~7% doi.org/10.1177/2515...)

A couple of things - Badges aren't mandates. If there were actual mandates we wouldn't need badges. I'm not even a fan of badges but trying to create unnecessary polarization is unhelpful.

@jananmost.bsky.social put in a ton of work on this paper, and she provides some valuable data on the newly developed self-report instrument for Hi-TOP. Give it a read and let us know what you think.

Digital psychiatry is an exciting field and includes efforts to enhance diagnosis and monitoring of mental illness using passive sensing (eg smartphone sensors). But the literature is rife with small N studies focusing on single diagnoses. That's a huge problem for two reasons... 1/
