I'm just going to keep screaming this until I'm hoarse, but until Trump the norm -- for 50 years -- was that sitting presidents had their taxes audited by the IRS and released to the public to show they were clean. But Trump refused repeatedly, and sued when his return was leaked, and now ... this

FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.

I dunno but it should probably be a bigger deal that the White House announced it wants to slap a 100% tariff on drug imports at the same time it is eliminating Medicare drug subsidies. And we’re talking about critical life-saving drugs like insulin, blood thinners, antibiotics, and heart meds.

India supplies approximately 50% of all U.S. generic drugs, and these face the highest tariff
rates:
• Antibiotics: Penicillin, amoxicillin
• Cardiovascular medications: Generic versions of cholesterol drugs, blood thinners
• Diabetes medications: Metformin, insulin analogs
• Pain relievers: Ibuprofen, acetaminophen
2. China-Dependent Active Ingredients
China supplies active ingredients for:
• >95% of ibuprofen and acetaminophen
• ~45% of penicillin
• Many other commonly used medications' base components

this clip that CNN obtained of Georgia Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins' son in law, who has participated in Collins' campaign and reportedly lives on Collins' property, using Nazi talking points to suggest the Holocaust actually wasn't that bad is just bonkers

Was speaking with my psychologist today when I got distracted by something moving in the window over his shoulder. It was two squirrels engaged in some vigorous and prolonged fucking. Make of that what you will.

One month out! If you are looking to learn a thing or two about analyzing meta-analytic data, come join us before the semester kicks off 🎒

Hey folks, I will be offering my SMaRT workshop on quant methods for meta-analysis in August this year (Aug. 10-11; smart-workshops.com/meta-info). There is some more info on the website and in the post below, but feel free to shoot me a message/email with any questions!

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people. By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s. Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

New post! "Making Sense of Replications (and Some Nonsense about the Replication Crisis)," in which I suggest a journal club reading list of new papers on replication, and push back on claims that the replication crisis is fake. getsyeducated.substack.com/p/making-sen...

Making Sense of Replications (and Some Nonsense about the Replication Crisis)

It’s hard to overstate just how much the culture around replication in science has changed over the past 15 years.

as a committed centrist, it saddens me that both parties are falling captive to their extremes - the right to insurrectionist cultists who want to invade american cities, and the left to socialists who want better bus service
