You can't both advocate for unionization and then act like a good indie boss is all you need for things to be fine, come the fuck on, be serious. Small companies famously play fast and loose with labor law or just don't have employees, meaning workers have way fewer rights and you're back to faith

Every time I see someone oversimplify things as Indie Good AAA Bad I wish people remembered that big studios typically behave a lot more like ordinary workplaces, for better and worse. E.g. no shade on Strange Scaffold, but a recent post said "everyone is hourly". Do you REALIZE what that means?

TALK ANNOUNCEMENT📢 Emma Kinema & Carolyn Jong This session dives into how fascism takes root in games, how bosses have benefitted from harassment campaigns led by gaming audiences, and what what we can all collectively do to combat the rise of fascism in our industry.

They’re putting ads in marriage proposals now. Suicide notes brought to you by Eli Lilly. I’m so sorry for your loss, which could’ve been prevented by Home Depot’s new shake-proof ladder, available in stores now. Police are asking the public to remain alert and try Wendy’s new triple-bacon sliders.

This Chet Faliszek guy who keeps concern trolling about the union's "messaging" is a CEO and an employer btw. He's doing the thing where he pretends to speak for "game developers" as a whole as if the difference between bosses and workers doesn't matter, but it's 2026 nobody buys this shit anymore

Longtime college friend of mine, Mike Prinke, was among those laid off at Epic Games: he has been fighting terminal brain cancer, and now he, his wife, and kid, have no income or health insurance. Sharing here in hopes it can reach the right people on their behalf. #epicgames

The difference between tech and activism is that tech is beset by the newborn nightmare technology "generative ai", while activism is completely dependent on using the ancient nightmare technology, the "phone call"

Something I have noticed while talking with people at GDC: A lot of people are worried about the state of the industry and its conditions, but a lot of them will not move. We are running out of time. We ARE out of time. Is this what scares you?
