Everything muted. Sky hangs low, a smear of peach light leaking through above the slow, wet, rumble of the tide. Sand holds the sky’s reflection for a moment before it seeps away into the grains. At the lip of the dune, dried stalks stand brittle, umbels empty, snagging the empty salt air.
