I just so happen to be teaching two different lessons about India tomorrow: Elizabethan exploration there with Y11 and East India Company rule with Y8. Looking forward to getting stuck into this:
It was a pleasure to host @catherinepriggs.bsky.social at Avanti Grange and a great opportunity to showcase our curriculum, drawing so much on the brilliant #ChangingHistoriesKS3

Lovely feedback from parents at our Open Evening tonight. Those new to the school blown away by our curriculum content. Existing parents telling me their children love History for the stories. It's #ChangingHistoriesKS3 Thanks to @counsellc.bsky.social @willgoodfellow82.bsky.social and authors!
I'm curious to know if you or your students have used AI marking platforms for GCSE or A level history (eg Classroom 42's 'Examinator'). What are your/your students experiences? Any insights would be really appreciated. Thanks!
A 4hr 26 min train journey to get to #SHP25 . What better way to pass the time than to lose myself in some incredible #ChangingHistoriesKS3 Book 3:Fragile Worlds chapters. The author team and @counsellc.bsky.social have worked their magic yet again.
It will be really good. @catherinepriggs.bsky.social and @egcarr.bsky.social are brilliant at explaining how to integrate rich extended story with critical disciplinary thinking. They explain the #ChangingHistoriesKS3 series really well, giving great practical tips.
Had such a great time teaching Year 7 today! We explored England from 1087 to 1154 - a whirlwind of power struggles, a fractured empire, and civil war - using @counsellc.bsky.social’s chapter ‘Meanwhile, back in Norman England: Struggling for control after 1087’ from #ChangingHistoriesKS3

This short thread by Cat Priggs made me think: History planning is about tying things together into a shape, a flow – usually a story & often a parallel flow of the analytic direction created by the EQ. It isn't about breaking things up into propositions and it's rarely about teaching a procedure.
The chapter ties everything together into one rich and accessible narrative. In just one lesson, we: - Unpicked the chaos after William I’s death - Learnt how Henry I restored stability in England and Normandy…
Does anyone know of a university academic/historian who could review a textbook chapter on Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge? Struggling to find someone. Thanks!
It's the final countdown, the last chance saloon, the end of the line! Tomorrow night we close the #SHP25 box office so don't miss out on our magnificent conference on July 11-13 @leedstrinity.bsky.social: 40 wonderful workshops, 3 kicking Keynotes, fab fringe sessions & enthusiastic exhibitors ...

Really looking forward to #SHP25 this year. The line up looks great!
Paula is a genius. Her chapters in #ChangingHistoriesKS3 sing. And thanks to her, my 4 year old son, Roo, wants to know more about 'the queen type lady' (Nur Jahan) and how she liked to ride elephants and hunt tigers. Thank you Paula for your amazing dedication to this project.
And here it is. Finally. Surrounded by some of the scholarship that shaped it. It’s beautiful and such fun to teach - it has given my Year 8 class stories to live inside. A parent messaged me to say history has ‘never been so fun!’ - all I did was tell the class stories from this book.
Mmm...I wonder which story book I'll read to my 4 year old at bedtime??! Have you got your copies of #ChangingHistoriesKS3 Expanding Worlds yet? If so please share on BlueSky. I love seeing copies out in their natural habitat!
Starting my Ireland unit with a Year 8 this week. Very much looking forward to getting stuck into it with the help of A New Focus on The British Empire #historyteacher
