The U.S. depends on Canada for 75% of its imported primary aluminum, covering 60%of its yearly usage, the association says. With 50% tariffs in place, American industries, not Canadian smelters, will bear the brunt of the financial pain, as U.S. manufacturers face soaring production costs.

Most of U.S. aluminum comes from Canada. Industry says ‘good luck’ replacing it

Canada’s aluminum industry is not worried about U.S. tariffs continuing into the new year.

I’ve been doing all sorts of schematics and symbols (hand-drawn, of course). So many cool ones. (My first was the classic 555 astable circuit) This one came up during Valentine’s Day, as in “You put the ‘darling’ in…’ haha Do you have a fave circuit you’d wear?

Yesterday, in Oregon, we heard a very distinct Red Tailed Hawk cry, over and over. But, then, we saw that it was actually a Steller's jay mimicking one. Amazingly good mimic; we checked and it even fooled Merlin.

A friend sent me an image of the Saturnian moon Daphnis that was clearly AI and I’m so flipping angry because these are REAL pics of Daphnis YOU DON’T HAVE TO AI SPACE IT IS ALREADY FUCKING AMAZING AHHH

The wavemaker moon, Daphnis, is featured in this view, taken as NASA's Cassini spacecraft made one of its ring-grazing passes over the outer edges of Saturn's rings on Jan. 16, 2017. This is the closest view of the small moon obtained yet.
