Struggling with my plan to eliminate my remaining social media platform use later this year while realizing that I am very much an introvert and worrying that my human interaction would decrease significantly. I won't be happy with continuing to use these platforms but they're so ubiquitous now

A year ago I was told my position was being eliminated in order to move to a 24/7 support model by outsourcing my job, for a company that only services the state I live in, to Arizona. I managed to dodge the layoff bullet by switching departments but man any loyalty I may have had died that day.

I'm revisiting Silksong nearly a year later and getting back into it took me a little while since I never replayed it but damn, this is a fucking masterpiece that was worth every day of the wait for it. Honestly can't think of a better Metroidvania.

Hot take: Republicans will say EXACTLY the same things about centrists that they will about DSA members (i.e. call them commies). The difference is that DSA candidates will actually fight for the things real people WANT and thus will be less vulnerable than do-nothing centrists to bullshit attacks.

The vibes may be exciting, but if Democrats are going to win this year and in 2028, they must reject the DSA. If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.

Pretty wild that Taco Bell identified the source of the outbreak before the FDA did and promptly pulled it. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA

The Odyssey was fantastic. It's a long movie, nearly 3 hours, but you don't feel it because it breezes by. There's no one who's making movies quite like Christopher Nolan is. Make it a point to see this one in theaters if you can

It happens less often than it used to but I still occasionally get confronted and challenged on statements I make from friends, family, and acquaintances to the right of me and there always seems to be this thought behind it that I'll realize how "extreme" I'm being and back down. Nope. Surprise!

I read Dungeon Crawler Carl early last year and never would have predicted it blowing up and becoming this huge phenomenon. It's great and I'm glad to see it be this successful, and also extend that success to things like a Seattle chocolate company, but yeah, didn't see it coming.

The fact that J.K. Rowling successfully bullied Amnesty International into taking down a report that accurately called out her attack on trans people, especially trans women, is so repulsive and such a display of the power of her money, and her choice to put her vast fortune behind persecution.

Amnesty removes report that called JK Rowling's centre 'anti-rights'

Amnesty International UK has removed a report which labelled JK Rowling's sexual abuse crisis centre Beira's Place as "anti-rights".

I know everyone’s making their jokes, but to be real: it’s an American sickness that the media and political class are praising someone who has spent last year calling for a genocide. Lindsay Graham was the worst of us. He wanted the blood of children to flow in the streets of Gaza and got his wish.
